Team USA – the final countdown best team in history

I am a Kobe Bryant fan but on youtube I learned alot about Michael Jordan and Larry Bird and guys like that. This video is for the I am a Kobe Bryant fan but on youtube I learned alot about Michael Jordan and Larry Bird and guys like that. This video is for the old timers who got to see the 92 dream team. Barcelona was where they played the games and the Dream Team won by an average of 44 points per game. Magic Johnson was the most dominating passer with Bird the most dominating long range shooter with Jordan the dominator WOW! Many consider it the greatest team ever assembled, in any sport. Yet even that description fails to give it proper credit for its impact. The original Dream Team, the US basketball team that won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, was a phenomenon on and off the court. It mattered not that it dominated the Olympic competition, beating its eight opponents by an average of 44 points. What was important was that the Dream Team, the first US Olympic team to include NBA stars, gave fans a glimpse of basketball at its finest, and an entire world responded. Since 1992, basketball has exploded in popularity around the globe, rising to a place where it truly challenges soccer’s status as the world’s most popular sport. Much of that is due to the impact of the Dream Team, which attracted fans and followers wherever it went. “It was,” said Coach Chuck Daly, “like Elvis and the Beatles put together. Traveling with the Dream Team was like

La Lakers Tickets – a Look at the Nba Team History

Getting La Lakers tickets would be a dream-come-true as they are hot in demand. LA Lakers is one of the star teams of NBA from the time it has joined them. This label has contributions from its players, records, awards, coaches and even star fans! It has had some of the greatest players in the history of the game, like Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, James Worthy, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Magic Johnson, on its rolls. At the end of 2005-06 season it recorded the most wins (2806), maximum finals appearances (28), second most championship winners (14) and also highest winning percentage (61.5). That’s the reason, they are considered as the most successful franchise in the NBA.

LA Lakers holds the record for the longest consecutive win streak of 33 in the country’s professional team sports. Forbes values them at $568 million, the second most valuable basketball franchise in the United States. Surely that explains why La Lakers tickets are not less valuable that gold. Not only that, 8 of 50 best players in the history, nominated by NBA in 1997, played significant portions of their careers with LA Lakers.

La Lakers also boasts of a glittery fan list from Hollywood including Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washington, Leonardo Dicaprio, Dustin Hoffman, Pete Sampras, Andy Garcia, Sylvester Stallone, Ice Cube, Tobey Maguire, Edward Norton, Ashton Kutcher, Salma Hayek, Snoop Dogg, Dyan Cannon, Justin Timberlake, Demi Moore, Ray Lewis and Tyra Banks! You could join them too by getting La Lakers tickets.

There are some unique achievements too, like the 81-point performance by Kobe Bryant’s in 2006 was the second highest point total in League history. If you are a video game buff, then you can watch the video called “How to Stop the Lakers”. This was the result of their high popularity during 2000’s when the trio of Coach Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal brought three straight championships.

It was founded in Detroit before moving to Minneapolis. There they went on to win 5 league championships before relocating to Los Angeles where they were named LA Lakers, in reference to the large cargo-carrying ships that traversed the Great Lakes. The current arena of the team is Staple Center, located at Los Angeles, California, USA. They were the first team to join the Western Conference of NBA. Catch them on court with La Lakers tickets.

Today it has become one of the predominant teams in the NBA. The coordination between Coach Phil Jackson and star Kobe Bryant has led to many resonant victories for the team. Coach Jackson as a player was known as the ‘Zen Master’ of Chicago Bulls. One of the greatest coaches of all times, he was the one who popularized ‘The Triangle Offense’.

They finished 2nd place in the viciously spirited Pacific Division in the 2006-07 season and their fans are hoping to see the best. The Lakers strands always go packed out, in the anticipation of a game high on drama and adrenaline. So get your LA Lakers tickets today and see them in action, this 2007- 08 season! Team Building Skills That Build Winning Teams

Leaders must incorporate team building skills into their plan in order to build winning teams. Leaders who get their teams to work together create amazing possibilities as they capture the benefits of teamwork.

Great teams are no accident; building teams takes hard work, patience, and sacrifice. It requires leadership that guides teams toward a shared vision or goal.

“My driving belief is this: great teamwork is the only way to reach our ultimate moments, to create breakthroughs that define our careers, to fulfill our lives with a sense of lasting significance” — Pat Riley

Team Dynamics

In The Winner Within, author Pat Riley discusses his role as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball dynasty.

The Lakers were a dominant team for decades, but despite having some of the best players during the late 1970s, they had lost their edge and began finishing their season half-way through the playoffs.

In 1979, they drafted Earvin “Magic” Johnson who had departed college early after leading his Michigan State Spartans team to a national college basketball title.

When Success Can Lead to Adversity

In “Magic’s” first year in the National Basketball Association (NBA), The L.A. Lakers won the NBA championship.

During the next season, “Magic” was injured and did not play for several months. While injured, the team won 70% of their games, but the press played up the eventual return of last season’s tournament Most Valuable Player so much that the other players felt that their contributions were neglected.

Veteran players felt all the attention given to “Magic” came at their expense. As a consequence, team resentment began to build and the Lakers did not work well together after his return. In the end, the Lakers were unable to repeat as NBA champions as expected.

Applying Team Building Skills to Stay On Course

Coach Riley knew he would have to eliminate the conflict between the players to get his team back on track, which included validating everyone’s need to contribute and feel like valuable members of the team.

While “Magic” had great leadership potential, he had joined a team of professionals filled with several stars and individual egos and would have to become accepted.

Coach Riley knew the importance of teamwork and was able to turn things around the following season by insisting that his players commit to the vision and values of the team. Simply put, he established “buy-in” by requiring players to declare whether they would were IN or they were OUT.

When everyone committed to the same set of beliefs, a climate of trust developed and the players began to work together like never before. As a result, the Lakers went on to win five titles in the 1980s and they became the first team in two decades to repeat as back-to-back champions.

The Team Building Investment

Why is teamwork important?

Most people recognize that teamwork is the road to success, but they sometimes miss that it requires sacrifice and hard work.

The key point is that before players will commit and place the needs of the team before their own, they have to feel that their sacrifice will be worth it.

Imagine overcoming obstacles to teamwork and harnessing efforts so that everyone works together.

It is up to the leader to exercise team building skills that will create synergy and enable your business to achieve its long-term goals.

When asked whether he would rather have a winning team or a together team while coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, Coach Riley responded,

“When you understand team dynamics, it’s obvious. A team must first be together – like a strong family.” — Pat Riley

Beijing- Usa Basketball Team Regains the Gold Medal

After eight long years without a gold medal the redeemed USA basketball team has finally achieved the precious medal. The hard work of both Coach Mike Krzyzewki and director Jerry Colangelo turned out very well as now the team has an exceptional defense, a solid team spirit and a common goal like never before. All players are one hundred percent committed and they all want to exceed the expectations and be once again at the top of the world in the sport of basketball.

Despite the advantage the US team had in the first seven games scheduled totaling 30 points, the championship game against the European giant Spain was a major challenge.  The defending champion never yield or set back an inch during the entire game. Spain played the US team as an ordinary team not one with NBA stars who have worldwide recognition. The Spaniards had many opportunities to win but their Americans rivals knew what they were doing and offered an incredible game. The American defense was a nightmare for the Spaniard players who had no chance to reassess and this is how they played until the very end.

The game offered so much to the public that so far it is considered the best basketball game in the Olympics history by many fans, the media, coaches and especially the players who enjoyed it most.  The best U.S players were Dwyane Wade who scored 27 points and Kobe Bryant with 20 points. While Spain’s point guard the young Ricky Rubi was absolutely amazing with only 17 years of age he proved he can played at that high level.

On the other hand, Spain’s Rudy Fernandez had an amazing game with 22 points while and Pau Gazol who currently plays for the LA Lakers added 21 points. No doubt all players gave their best to become the top Olympic basketball winners.

Coach K stated they worked very hard for 36 days, from the training sessions to the final game at the Olympics. Coach K knew they had to do dramatic changes and one of them was to put together not an All-Star team but instead players who would commit with their time and energy in order to get the U.S team back on track.  Coach Krzyzewski’s work was just more mental than physical and he achieved his main goal to set the team on a winning mode as all players showed talent, capability and mental strength. It has been mentioned Coach K will remain with the team for another four years.

“We showed great characters in the tournament, maybe the greatest in the international basketball history. No other team had the same characters as us because if we don’t have them, we won’t be here at the top of the world” said Coach K.

Close to end there were some technical fouls and mistakes made by the Spaniards that the Americans took advantage of to win with a final score of 118-107 and the gold medals around their necks.

Dream or Redeem? Denouncing the Debate About the Usa Men’s Basketball Team

Well, it’s done. The United States of America is back on top of the world, taking over basketball supremacy by knocking off some of the top international teams, finalized with a victory over powerhouse Spain this past weekend in Beijing. While this feat was exhilarating to watch, settling for anything less than a gold medal would have been downright embarassing with the team USA had. Going the distance and traveling thousands of miles to rock the hardwood were NBA’s finest, including the likes of Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Dwight Howard, not to mention Deron Williams, MVP runner-up Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, Carlos Boozer, and…ummm, I think you get the hint. The team was ridiculously good. Playing textbook, unselfishly flawless basketball to bring back the gold. This was definitely a sight for sore eyes, and if you’re a basketball nut like I am, you need to log on to 104basketball.com for all basketball needs, including where to buy tickets, sporting goods, and even to read related articles and check out a bunch of awesome stuff.

Now, Team USA may have rocked Beijing in easy fashion, but did they leave the impact that USA did back in 1992. That is the debate. Or is it? Not in this writer’s eyes. Yes, this team had great talent, but how can you compare this team with the likes of Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, David Robinson, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Chris Mullin, and Christian Laettner (most are Hall of Famers). Winning by an average of 40+ points per game, the 1992 Dream Team was just that, a dream team. This team was put together by the likes of a few “high-ups” in the NBA, starting out with the inevitable “wouldn’t it be great if…”

Now, I bring up a question. Who is bringing up this debate, and why? Are they Laker fans who drool merely at the sight of Kobe Bryant, or are they today’s youth that was too young to have seen The Dream Dominate dominate back in the early ’90′s? Whoever they are, they must still be jet-lagged from trying to rack up airline miles to and from Beijing.

Stay tuned for Part II next week, but in the meanwhile, for all that is basketball, log on to 104basketball.com today!

NBA Tickets – LeBron, Kobe Back on All-NBA First Team

Here’s a look back at the season for those selected to be on the All-NBA First Team, a list that doesn’t have too many surprises.

Dwight Howard, Center, Orlando Magic.  Though LeBron James gets much of the league’s superstar publicity, Howard is the other number one overall draft pick who has done nothing but meet lofty expectations.  Howard was once again the defensive player of the year, aided by his 13.2 rebounds per game and 2.8 blocks a contest.  Howard also continues to be a very strong post presence on offense, as he put up 18.3 points a game during the regular season.  In the playoffs, Howard has remained equally as dominant, helping the Magic look like the team to beat so far in the NBA postseason.

LeBron James, Forward, Cleveland Cavaliers.  This was a no-brainer.  As LeBron looks to take out the Celtics in the second round of the playoffs, his regular season stats speak emphatically for themselves.  Per game, King James averaged 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 block.  Barring injury, LeBron is here to stay on this list for a long, long time.

Kevin Durant, Forward, Oklahoma City Thunder.  As the youngest scoring champ in the history of the league, Durant isn’t much of a surprise either.  His 30.1 points per game helped the Thunder take the next stage in their development and has fans definitely excited about him playing in Oklahoma City.  Durant also continues to prove that he can rebound his position, averaging 7.6 boards per contest during the 2009-2010 regular season.  Despite some inconsistent play in the first round of the playoffs against the Lakers, Durant still helped push the Lakeshow far closer to the brink of elimination than most anticipated.  Durant’s future is a bright one, as is the future for the entire franchise.

Dwyane Wade, Guard, Miami Heat.  For the second consecutive season, Wade earned All-NBA first team honors.  With minimal help from his supporting cast, Wade carried the Heat to the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, though he could do little to help the far less talented Heat overcome the Boston Celtics.  Wade was fifth in scoring and also had one of the top assists totals for a non point-guard with 6.5 dimes for the season.  His 1.8 steals per contest was icing on the cake.  With options facing him this offseason, will Wade continue to put up these types of numbers in Miami, or in another city?

Kobe Bryant, Guard, Los Angeles Lakers.  The Black Mamba has now been on the All-NBA First-Team for five consecutive seasons.  His 27 points per game are impressive enough but even more impressive when you consider the injuries to his shooting hand that he endured for much of the season.  Bryant also continues to be a defensive force and was selected to the All-Defensive First Team as well, which is also the fifth consecutive year he’s earned the honor.  Kobe continues to be one of the top sellers of <arel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/nba-tickets/”>NBA tickets</a> and as of May 6th his Lakers were up 2-0 on the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Semi-Finals.  Though most now consider LeBron James to be the best overall player in the league, Kobe is still lurking as one of the elite players.

David James wrote this article, which was sponsored by <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/”>StubHub</a>, one of the finest places in the entire world wide web to get <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/nba-tickets/”>NBA tickets</a>, concert tickets, theatre tickets, special events tickets, or almost any kind of sports ticket out there.
