MICHAEL JORDAN: The Greatest (pt 4)
THE LEGEND
Michael Air Jordan… Most would call him the all time King of the NBA….some would call him the Baller of all ballers Michael Air Jordan… Most would call him the all time King of the NBA….some would call him the Baller of all ballers….some would just call him money, because he was money on and off the court. I just don’t mean paper either. He was called Superman, Batman (Pippen was ‘Robin’), Air, MJ, Mike, but most of us in Chicago knew him as Michael. A phenomenal athlete with a unique combination of grace, power, artistry and improvisational ability, Michael Jordan has single-handedly redefined the NBA, and what the meaning of consistency and dominance is. In 1998 was Jordan’s greatest feat, Pippen missed over half the season and was ineffective as far as his consistency when the playoffs that year rolled around due to a bad back. Jordan put the team on his back and led them to their amazing 6th championship in 8 years, putting a stamp on the dominance they displayed on the other teams in the 90′s. One is left to ponder what could have been if Jordan didn’t play baseball, his father was still alive, and if Jordan could have remained a Bull until 2003, what could have been if the Bulls revamped the roster and brought in ‘more help’ for MJ. Either way he capped his career with a game winning shot, as well as collecting his unprecedented 6th finals MVP. My favorite performances were when Jordan averaged over 41ppg vs the Phoenix Suns who had great players on their …
Kobe Bryant never has clocked his 40 yard dash because it’s probably in the 4.6′s. There’s nothing wrong with that. I would estimate that LeBron is a 4.5 athlete. There is documentation that has LeBron between 4.5 and 4..7. For instance Cedric Benson was a high high draft pick, #4 overall and he ran a 4.6. Running a 4.6 is still pretty fast and Kobe is pretty fast. Michael Jordan is on record for running a 4.3 with Deion Sanders. Jordan had a 48″ vertical Ill even go one further, this is the only guy in pro sports who reminds me of the way Jordan ran. McFadden and Jordan have similar strides. Funny that there are accounts of Jordan running a 4.2 and McFadden just ran in the high 4.2′s. This guy reminds me of MJ with the way he runs: /watch?v=6ofdva1wAaU this is what Jordan’s 40 yard dash looked like: /watch?v=YT01B7PSAx0 No doubt in my mind that if Jordan was in his prime he would destroy this no-contact NBA. Michael Jordan is by far the most accomplished basketball player in history. No one approaches Jordan’s number of Finals MVPs. The legend that Jordan was so dominant that he lost MVP awards because of it is true. The league voters tired of giving the award to the same player every year. Seeing that Jordan was the future of the NBA and Magic Johnson had only received one MVP in his career, they voted Johnson in 1989 and 1990, not to diminsh Magic’s accomplishments. Jordan is #1 all-time in total MVP voting, #1 all-time in MVP award shares, and has by far the most …
Jordan and the Bulls start this game uncharacteristically out of rythm, ending the quarter on a mere 25% FG. Jordan ends up with 40 points with an easy, in-the-flow offensive attack and a prowling defensive exhibition that marked the stat sheet with 4 blocks. The Clippers came out firing, not backing down from the storied, history making franchise. Stacked with two 7 foot, 300+pound frontmen (Stanley Roberts, Kevin Duckworth), an effective floor leader in Pooh Richardson, 6’8 Malik Sealy, 6’7 265lb Rodney Rogers… The Clippers certainly didn’t need to prove that they weren’t a team to be pushed around. But just as you were unlikely to stop Mike, you were unlikely to stop the Bulls – regardless of the physicality of your squad. (The 10 second clip in this video is also played at 4:06, it was an editing mistake on my behalf and it’s true position should be at 4:06. I have missed a bucket because of this, but I won’t be re-uploading. Sorry)

Uploading the original, full length HD version, created by VCBS (uomospaziale@hotmail.com) for your viewing pleasure. This video details Jordan’s early aerial career (1984 – 1993), his 2nd coming mastery of the game (1995 – 1998), and his final return where his physical skills had largely declined, but his fundamentals remained sound, allowing him to score 20+ppg as a 38-40yr old. And a record 50+pts as a 38yr old and 43pts as a 40yr old. The man was simply a basketball beast. The music is the “Requiem for a Dream” original and remix that was made for Lord of the Rings – Two Towers
